(Reuters) – Dish Community Corp is open to merging its satellite tv for pc tv enterprise with AT&T Inc’s pay TV service DirecTV however the two corporations don’t have any lively deal talks occurring, based on a Bloomberg report seen by Reuters.
Shares of Dish rose as a lot as 6.3% after the report on Friday, whereas AT&T’s inventory edged 1.9% greater.
Each Dish and DirecTV have been shedding subscribers as viewers proceed to shift to cheaper on-line streaming companies equivalent to Netflix Inc and Amazon.com Inc’s Prime service.
The Bloomberg report comes a day after brokerage UBS wrote a notice outlining the advantages of a merger between Dish and DirecTV.
Dish and AT&T didn’t instantly reply to Reuters’ requests for remark.
